How to send your points — the right way

A safe, program-compliant transfer keeps your account healthy and completes the marketplace order faster. Follow these steps for every transfer.

Do this

  • Use the program's official transfer, family pool, gift or award-booking feature — the same one shown in the badges above.
  • Log in yourself on the program's official website or app. Never share your password or one-time codes.
  • Enter the recipient details (name, member number, email) exactly as provided in the marketplace order. A single typo can send points to the wrong account.
  • Take a clear screenshot of the confirmation page showing the amount, recipient and reference/transaction number.
  • Upload that screenshot in your MilesMarket order chat and wait for the buyer to confirm receipt before the payout is released.

Do NOT do this

  • Never share your login, password, two-factor codes or full account access with the buyer or anyone else.
  • Do not sell or transfer accounts, status tiers or unearned miles — only the balance is transferred through official features.
  • Do not use bots, resellers, fake identities or third-party services to bypass the program's terms.
  • Do not send points off-platform or accept payment outside MilesMarket — buyer and seller protection only applies to on-platform orders.
  • Do not backdate, alter or forge confirmation screenshots. Suspicious activity can freeze the payout and your account.

Is this allowed?

Yes. MilesMarket only supports transfers that use each program's own official features — transfer, family pool, household account, gifting or booking an award for another person. Using these built-in tools between private individuals is generally permitted. You remain responsible for following your program's current terms and conditions; if a feature is marked ⚠ or ❌ above, do not attempt to use it.

Real examples of what goes wrong

Concrete cases we see fail — and exactly what happens next.

Sharing login credentials

You hand over your username, password or 2FA code so the buyer can "transfer the miles themselves".

Consequence

The program detects an unusual login, freezes the account and voids the balance. You lose all points, the payout is blocked, and MilesMarket must suspend your seller profile.

Selling the whole account

Instead of transferring the balance, you offer the account itself — including status, credit card link or stored payment methods.

Consequence

Loyalty programs prohibit account transfers. The account gets closed, miles are forfeited, and the order is cancelled as fraudulent — no payout, possible permanent ban from MilesMarket.

Wrong recipient name or number

You transfer to a similar-looking member number or a nickname instead of the exact legal name from the order.

Consequence

Most programs will not reverse a completed transfer. The buyer opens a case, you have no proof of correct delivery, and the payout is refunded to the buyer.

Payment or contact outside the platform

The buyer offers PayPal Friends & Family, crypto or a bank transfer to "save the fee" and you continue via WhatsApp or email.

Consequence

Buyer/seller protection does not apply off-platform. Chargebacks, scams and disputes fall entirely on you, and both accounts are banned once discovered.

Fake or edited proof

The transfer failed or is delayed, so you edit an old screenshot or Photoshop the amount to release the payout faster.

Consequence

Our review flags mismatched metadata or reference numbers. The order is reversed, the payout is clawed back and the account is closed for fraud.

Using bots, brokers or fake identities

You buy miles from a reseller, use a bot to top up, or list points that belong to someone else.

Consequence

Programs regularly audit unusual balances. They claw back the miles from the recipient too, which triggers a buyer refund — you owe the payout back and are permanently removed.

  • Recipient's full name and program member number (spelled exactly as on their account)
  • Two-factor authentication or identity verification may be required

Preparation checklist

  • Confirm your available balance

2

Open the transfer / gift / award booking section

3

Enter the recipient's information and the amount

4

5

What happens after submission

Common questions

Can I cancel a transfer once submitted?

In most programs, transfers are final. Confirm the recipient details carefully before submitting.

Are there fees?

Some programs charge a per-transaction fee. Check the official terms for the current amount.

Why was my transfer delayed?

New accounts, unusual activity or verification checks can delay transfers. Contact the program's support if it takes longer than published.

Aer Lingus AerClub (Avios): selling and buying miles

Everything you need for a clean Aer Lingus AerClub (Avios) trade: which official routes the program allows, which fees and limits apply, how a realistic price per 1,000 miles is formed and how MilesMarket settles the deal with protected payment.

What are AerClub (Avios) miles worth?

Value comes from the award you can book, not from a fixed table. We compare official award charts with prices actually paid on the marketplace every day. The live prices above show the current average per 1,000 miles and the cheapest active offer.

Official routes only

MilesMarket only brokers what AerClub (Avios) itself allows: award bookings for another person, pooling or family accounts, or the official paid transfer. Sharing credentials or selling accounts is prohibited.

Fees, limits and timing

Know the program's transfer or booking fee, the annual transfer limit and the processing time before you trade. All of it is already included in the checkout total, so no extra invoices can follow.

How protected payment works

The buyer pays into protected payment, the seller delivers with proof, the buyer confirms. Payout is automatic after confirmation, or 72 hours after delivery when no case is opened.
