As of 5 October 2026, American Express Germany offers 30% extra Marriott Bonvoy points on Membership Rewards transfers through 31 October. This is Amex → Marriott, not a 30% bonus on Marriott → airline miles. Here is the maths and when to transfer.
The confirmed offer terms
Amex Germany lists the offer from 1 September through 31 October 2026. The ordinary rate is 3 Membership Rewards points for 2 Marriott Bonvoy points. The 30% bonus makes it effectively 3:2.6. The minimum is 900 Amex points, then increments of 3. The transfer must succeed within the offer period; recheck the terms with Amex before submitting.
Example: What do 30,000 Amex points get you?
At the normal rate, 30,000 Membership Rewards points become 20,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. With the bonus, they become 26,000 — 6,000 extra. This does not mean 30% more Amex points or a hotel stay that is automatically 30% cheaper: compare the actual points price, taxes and the equivalent cash rate for your dates.
What to check before transferring
Transfers can go only to your own Marriott Bonvoy account, with matching first and last names. Amex estimates up to one business day for the transfer. Bonus points normally post after the confirmed transfer but can take up to eight weeks after the offer ends. Transfers cannot be reversed, and transferred or bonus points do not count towards Marriott elite status. Do not rely on points that have not yet posted.
When is the offer worth using?
If you have already found a bookable Marriott award stay and are short on points, the bonus can help. Compare the cash rate for the same nights with the points price and calculate value per Amex point spent. Speculative transfers remove your flexibility to redeem Amex points with other airline or hotel partners. For flights, a direct transfer to the relevant airline may work out better; this bonus applies only to Marriott Bonvoy.
